Easter came early

One of our friends invited us to a easter egg hunt. The kids were so excited about hunting for candy-filled eggs, that they practiced. They hid things in the yard and then went and found them. Of course the real thing was much more enjoyable. Big thank you to Jean for inviting us.

Jog-A-Thon

Finnegan completed 12 laps at his school’s jog-a-thon. He raised $60, $10 came from the lemonade stand that we had. Thanks to all who sponsored him. He was very excited to have collected enough money for his school to earn a small prize.

The best part for him of course was the popcicle and going home with mom instead of on the bus.

Yes, we have some lemons!

Finnegan and Quinn have wanted to have a lemonade stand for a while, and Finn is also raising money for a jog-a-thon for his school, so we did a combo effort. Have a lemonade stand and the money goes to his school! My sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Richard, have one of the best lemon trees, and brought us a box full of beautiful lemons! So Quinn squeezed the lemons and Finnengan worked on the sign. We pulled our little red wagon up to the high school where a water polo match was in progress and set up shop. With only a few hours of effort we raised $10! Woo Hoo!

Vido caved.

I came home from work last night and vido siad “we” had a new toy. He got the new ipod shuffle. I couldn’t believe it! He has always giving me a hard time for running with music… He was pretty funny last night setting it up. Just in case you don’t know, I’m the tech person in the house.
Congratulations Love! Now you’ll know why we all love our ipods.

Mack turns 21!

For our Nephew’s 21st birthday he had a party at a bowling ally. It was fun and the kids had a blast!
The kids had my camera most of the time, so you can see their views.

Happy Birthday Mack!

I love a parade

Little Laguna beach has had the Patriots Day Parade every March for the past 43 years, and we always joke that half the town is in it and half watches. That was true for our family. Finnegan walked with the boys and girls club, and I walked along with him. Vido, Quinn and her buddy, Whitney, watched the parade from our usual spot. The parade is probably one of the shortest parade routes, it starts at the high school on Park, goes downhill, (thankfully) and ends by city hall. Finnegan was every excited to be in the parade, but knew he would miss out of the candy that gets tossed out. His sister and Whitney did share their loot.

Big Bear

Over presidents weekend we went up to Big Bear with the Harts. There was so much snow the front road was closed, so we had to take the back way again. Once we got up there, it was a winter wonderland. It was quiet on the side of town that we stayed, and it was away from the ski resort. There was still plenty to do with sleding and exploring as well as just hanging out.

Picts from the trip.

Sugar Cookies- Best Ever

What you need:

2 3/4 cup flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup of sugar

2 eggs

3/4 cup butter

2 tsp vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, vanilla. Add flour salt and baking powder.

Roll out dough in-between wax paper. After you roll out the dough put it back in the fridge for about 1/2 hour. I usually roll out two or three sheets, then pull out what I need and put the rolled out dough back in the refrigerator until I need it.

Bake for 11 minutes at 350 degrees.

Dancing Quinn

Quinn started dance with two of her friends from Montessori and is loving it. The first week she was so tired, she came home and slept until bedtime, then she was up until 11pm. That was fun for me. Last week was better.
