The carpet is her canvas
Quinn is a free spirt. So free she decide to draw on our the lovely carpet. Thankfully it was with a washable marker. I”m not really sure what she was drawing. I had her repeat our mantra, we draw only on paper, not on walls, not on carpet (newly added), only paper.

Happy Day! Obama mania!
I’m thrill that Obama won and have been glued to the tv watching the election coverage, and Obama’s acceptance speech as well as McCain’s concession speech. What an amazing time in history we are living in. I know President elect, Obama has a difficult road ahead, and so many people in our country and around the world expect so much. But with his determination, tenacity, and ability to lead, I do believe he will be our next great president.
Once again I have HOPE!

Halloween at work
Every year we have a Halloween party at work, and our team and a few others from work usually do a skit. We have done, synchronized swimming, a twist on the twilight Zone, 50ies house wives, soul train, but as ghouls, so the ghoul train, Barbie rejects, and trailer trash beauty pageant contestants.
This year we were bobbleheads from bobblywood, based on the Love Guru. The movie wasn’t that great, but we had fun with it.
I can usually go trick-o-treating with the kids in my costume, or pieces of it, but the head had to stay at home this year. It’s 32″ in diameters, and kind of heavy. Plus I can’t see that well out of it. The kids have had fun with it, too. It is almost as big as they are.

Halloween in the hood
Vido decided to dress up this year, but wouldn’t tell me what he was going to be. He kept telling everyone else, but swearing them to secrecy. You can view the our photos here.

Halloween goodies for next year
I picked up Finnegan from the Boys and Girls club Halloween afternoon, and they had made these fun treat bags. Plastic gloves with candy corn and popcorn. We all decided to make them for their classes next year.

The Princess sort of green party
Quinn’s party went over well. The dolls were a hit, but I did break down and buy plastic Tiaras. However almost all the girls had their own, so I am returning half of them.
We did a little craft where they made their own wands, and I did make the cake, not from scratch, but a box, but I used home-made icing to decorate it. I also had to purchased a Snow White doll, made in China of course. But it’s a toy she can keep, and it doesn’t get tossed away as some cake decorations might.
We made our patio a bit festive by decorated with toole, instead of store bought decorations. I can re-use the toole, and it was fairly inexpensive.

I only have six more to go! woo hoo. I am getting a bit better with making them, and finding out what works and what doesn’t do so we’ll. I had to buy new paint brushes, the cheapie set I first bought didn’t have a fine enough tip. Click the pict to see more.

Beehive Soccer
Finnegan is doing soccer this year and he seems to kind of like it. He did a soccer camp this summer and told Vido, “I love soccer.” He started off the season with an “injury”. He jumped of the play structure at the Boys and Girls club and, we think, sprained his ankle. He’s better now, but will occasionally use it as an excuse.
When I told a co-worker that he was in the u6 ayso league, he said, oh the beehives? It took me a second to get it, the kids swarm the ball like a pack of bees. : )

Birthday take-aways, on the green side
This is the first doll I finished, only 11 more to go. I’ve been having fun making these, and they will be the take away gift for my daughters party. Hopefully they are a little more green than plastic toys.
